After three months of culture in the nursery we can say, generally speaking, that it is two to three weeks later than usual. This is something that we have observed in other nurseries in the area, as a result of the good temperatures in May and June. We think this may be good for the crop that will allow plants to gain maturity earlier and be in good shape in October. Anyway it is a bit too early to jump the gun as there is still a lot of Summer ahead.
Regarding the production, our main variety is still Splendor occupying more than 80% of our nursery, the rest continue with “classic” varieties of our program as Honor or Endurance, which are a success in certain areas. Another big part of the nursery varieties is testing. In this sense, we already have some selctions with very good features which we hope to be commercial in two or three years.
